boo hoo.. i got scolded by a mean patient today.. e staff nurse asked me to explain to her tt she has to take like 2 litres of water w medicine in it to prepare her bowels for OGD..
so, e first question i asked her is whether she knows mandarin, and she says no.. note this ok.. so i tried my v best to explain in hokkien e procedure, and with my super limited hokkien, of course she doesnt understand.. and then somemore she said tt she wont take her medication unless she knows wat it is for.. ok fine, she has a right to know.. then i said paiseh my hokkien is not good (in hokkien), and she replied in a super irritated tone (in hokkien): not good don't do la!
fine.......and guess wat? i heard her speaking in mandarin fluently!! wa lao want to make life difficult for me issit?! some more she is only like our mother's age, how can she dunno chinese.. i think she just kan wo bu shuang cuz i am a student.. well, she is really li hai cuz she is one of e rare pt who can bring tears to my eyes.. boo hoo.. i was quite taken aback cuz most patients are really nice and understanding.. hmmm!
oh well i think i have to learnt to be more tolerant like the enrolled nurses there cuz they are really nice and caring.. anyway, some random things..my fav pt is discharged today! then there are 2 very old ah ma side by side who looks super alike and both are v nice and sweet.. i think if they switch beds i also wont know!! heehee.. super cute.. cute ah ma rocks!!!
