woah my 2nd day at A&E was really exciting wor.. e day started off w a bloody resuscitation, followed by a woman who attempted suicide by cutting both her wrists, and then by chancing upon my relative in e triage!
when i first stepped into e resus room today, there was already a resuscitation going on! this is my first time seeing a resus! i was quite impressed w e autopulse thing lor! e waveforms looked so perfect tt i don feel like asking to do e CPR.. hee..anyway, i stood by e side of e entrance to watch e resus, and e most obvious thing i could see is tt e air viva is quite bloody.. not e most pleasant thing to see first thing in e morn i must say! hee.. and i can hear e pt coughing up blood now and then.. anyway, e doc told us tt they resus her for 45 mins cuz she is only in her early 20s, but she didnt make in e end.. and then a nurse commented tt she looks like she just gave birth, cuz she has new stretch marks on her lower abdomen.. and this pt is a foreigner some more.. sad hor..
and then another pt came in w e police for attempted suicide.. i think she really wanted to end her life cuz she cut both her wrists, and e cuts were very deep some more (which looks kind of scary).. and she looks like she don feel pain any more lor.. her face didnt show any signs of pain even when e doc pressed on her cuts (which are really deep!) to stop e bleeding, or when he set e plug.. i think her emotional pain must be greater than her physical pain ba.. very poor thing..
after my break, i stepped into one of e triage rooms where i am supposed to be.. there was already a pt sitting there, so she looked up at me and i looked down at her.. and we suddenly realised tt we know each other! we are cousins btw.. hee.. wat a small world.. i guess if i am not a nurse, i wont be too pleased to know tt i have a relative in e healthcare sector.. hee..
